Lewis & Associates, headed by CEO N. Richard Lewis, won the SMPS Media Relations Campaign award June 12 at the Leonardo Awards held at the California Club. SMPS, the Society for Marketing Professional Services, is comprised of members representing every discipline associated with professionals connected to the design/construction industry.
The venerable PR/advertising firm, founded by Lewis 40 years ago, won for the campaign it conducted last year for Killefer Flammang Architects (KFA) — a client for nine years.
KFA, widely known for its adaptive reuse work downtown for such projects as The Roosevelt, Eastern Columbia and Pacific Electric, has designed about 20% of the multi-family units built downtown since 2000.
Lewis & Associates, which has been engaged in the marketing of more than 35,000 merchant-built homes and more than 15 million square feet of commercial space, including Pacific Design Center and Fox Plaza, remains the only firm to win MAME and Elan awards — sponsored by the Building Industry Association of Southern California — as well as top honors from SMPS and the Public Relations Society of America, which has bestowed PRISM awards on the firm for the three past consecutive years for the best external corporate newsletter.
